Shosu Shogi is a take on Okisaki Shogi where instead of the Lance and Knight having different movements, the following changes occur:

  • Lance promotes to Chu Shogi's Vertical Mover.
  • Knight promotes to Chess Knight (Jumping Horse)
  • Gold General promotes to Drunk Elephant

NOTE: Silver General promotes to Gold General as normal

HONOURABLE MENTION: Cannon Shosu Shogi https://www.chessvariants.com/rules/cannon-shosu-shogi There's also a variant of Shosu Shogi known as "Cannon Shosu Shogi" as well, which adds Tenjiku Shogi's Dogs and Cannon Shogi's Gold and Silver Cannons as well.

Actually, I'd prefer that Seireigi be implemented over Shosu Shogi. The former does a much better job at adding variety to the minor piece promotions.

This is coming from the inventor of both games by the way.

@amdewitt Can you provide permission to implement Seireigi in Pychess?(It's just a possibility.) Kagamigi is also good too.

@shibamizo57 Feel free to implement Seireigi, as long as you give me proper credit in its variant article, like how existing articles do so (name of inventor and year invented at the top of the page text). Including the CVP Link is optional but recommended.

Also feel free to implement Hectochess (https://www.chessvariants.com/rules/hectochess), under these same conditions.

I will ask Bob Greenwade about you implementing Kagamigi, since he is the inventor of that game.
