Do not modify `/etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf`

Open nappex opened this issue 4 months ago • 0 comments

When someone wants to modify or remove /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf he should create a new file /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf instead. That's said by header of the file /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf. This project modifies mentioned file here

Official FreeBSD handbook: https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/ports/#quarterly-latest-branch

There is also discussion about it on unix.stackexchange, see:

  • https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/433874/how-to-install-the-latest-version-of-software-in-freebsd/433876#433876

I could try to fix it.
