Please don't scan pages if firefox cannot connect to the internet

Whenever Web Pages Scanner looks for changes without me having a working internet connection and timing out, Web Pages Scanner thinks the whole page has changed. The next check with a working connection shows the whole page again.

Would it be possible for Web Pages Scanner not to check if there is no internet connection. Maybe Web Pages Scanner just tells the user, that the connection to the server has timed out, but still keeps the last version received without timeout?

If there is no internet connection, the page is not scanned, and changes are not detected. If you have such a problem, please write how I can reproduce this bug.
