keep getting logged out
Hi i keep getting logged out. Seems to happen in all browsers but not brave.
Any idea where to look Dan?
No errors in apache or avideo log.
Where are the sessions stored?
sessions are stored in your server.
cookies in your browser
can you reproduce that on the demo site?
i will have a look but im logged out of the site once i log into the encoder. When i go back to the homepage after logging in to the encodernetwork or the local encoder im then logged out from the streamer site.
This 100% something you have done. I have spend 2 solid days on this and even caused me to wipe out my whole server starting all over again, and will take days to restore Tbs of data.
New install:
- Ubuntu 22
- No control panel
- mod_php/apache2/php8.3
- Brand new files for testing AVideo/Encoder on same server
- I login to the encoder on safari iMAC and on mobile devices and then i am logged out of the site over and over again
This is NOT my setup, how can it be? You made changes to the encoder the other day and this is when the problem started. Never ever happened before that period. Massively frustrating as it has caused me to much grief and so much work and destruction to my site which will take days to get my site up and running again.

Try a different computer and network
It is happening on my iMac, mobile phone in both safari, and chrome on the phone and my ipad and a user emailed in saying he could not login. Doesnt happen in firefox or brave.
Also how can the same thing happen on a brand new server with all new files. Im not even using my site files for testing just the fresh avideo and encoder files so how can this be an issue with me and also happens on another server.

This is weird and this can cause the session issue
I do not know how you edit your configuration.php but this seems to be corrupted
make sure you do not have any extra space or line before <?php ...
wowwww well spotted i had a \ before the <?php and i dunno how and now everything is sweet. No more logout issues. Thats a really good find thanks a lot bro!
Problem is still there mate. The only point i get logged out is logging into the encoder. It doesnt happen anywhere else and ive had this issue before. It doesnt matter what i do it will not go away and is only happening on certain browsers. Ive turned off every single plugin too. I have no errors in logs in relation to this.

Maybe you have other files with the magic spaces or lines before <?php
ive overwritten all files with the fresh install files and i have a new configuration file. Ive just installed the encoder again in another folder and still the same issue. I can login to the encoder from the streamer site no problem. And once logged in i am not logged out from the encoder but logging in to the encoder will always log me out of the streamer site every single time, no matter what. I see no errors anywhere and none in developer tools.
What is the site and encoder domains ?
Are you using a proxy to them?
Maybe it is mixing the session name from them

try to set this encoder as your default encoder

try to login and check if the error persists
Right i have just finished a new install on contabo ubuntu 22
Followed this to the letter https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/wiki/How-to-install-LAMP,-FFMPEG-and-Git-on-a-fresh-Ubuntu-22.x-for-AVideo-Platform-version-11.x-or-newer and did nothing else with the server.
Installed fresh files from git for AVideo and Encoder and as soon as i logged in to the encoder from safari i was logged out.
Thats 2 fresh installs on 2 seperate hosting companys and your telling me their isnt a problem? All started the day you updated the encoder files. I stated this eariler.

in your encoder can you use a different domain as the *.ourtube.co.uk
to be honest I have no idea, but I suspect it is something with your domain
but encoder2.ourtube.co.uk and ourtube.co.uk are are different locations with different ips and different hosts. Nothing was changed on the domain when this issue started happening and has been working fine for years.
I see, but just try a different domain or try to use the server ip to use the encoder
I dont get logged off if using the ip.
so on ourtube.co.uk if i use the remote encoder2 ip instead of encoder2.ourtube.co.uk it doesnt log me out.
It is probably something regarding the cookies and your domain
I am not sure what configuration is causing that
But this is not happening on my domain
