Category selection not working on encoder

Open para2022 opened this issue 11 months ago • 18 comments

It has started defaulting to the default category even if you change it on the encoder so it makes little difference.

sorry the issue is not clear

Category selection on the encoder does not work

para2022 avatar Mar 11 '24 18:03 para2022

Both encoders are the same. I have to keep going and changing uploaded videos into the correct category manually. The users have reported this issue to me and I checked it by uploading and it is broken.

do you have the PredefinedCategory plugin enabled?

what do you have set there?

check at that specific user if you set something, also check the Site Default Category

No i have never used it. Users can select category no problem on direct upload. Only affects the encoders. This was working fine now it is not. Freshly installed encoders are the same. Its a bug in the code

para2022 avatar Mar 11 '24 19:03 para2022

does the same happen on demo site?

DanielnetoDotCom avatar Mar 11 '24 19:03 DanielnetoDotCom

I will check

para2022 avatar Mar 11 '24 19:03 para2022

Its working on the demo site i think.

It is the exact same problem happening again as here:

https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/issues/8525

I see, but to be able to help I need to reproduce the issue.

Are you sure this isnt a bug? If i use "Edit while Upload" on the endoder and edit the category there then it works. If i do not and change it using the old method then the category will not change no matter what i do or try. Ive been at this for days. I have no cors errors either in my dev tools. Direct upload works fine.

para2022 avatar Mar 15 '24 17:03 para2022

I see, the category is set before you click on upload, if you change it after the upload it may not work

but would be better if you could help me reproduce it.

Il take some screen shots

para2022 avatar Mar 15 '24 19:03 para2022

Ok here you can see i changed the category and changed the title to test. The title nor the category changed as you can see in the videos panel.

Film and animation is my default category so it is defaulting to that and ignoring the change

para2022 avatar Mar 15 '24 19:03 para2022

Sorry I still cannot see in what moment you changed the category

Also I must be able to reproduce it in my environment

Try to reproduce it in the demo site

DanielnetoDotCom avatar Mar 15 '24 20:03 DanielnetoDotCom

I change the category before pressing upload on the encoder. When the video is uploaded i can then change the category in the my videos panel and that works fine.

Are you certain it is not the very same bug occurred again that you fixed below? Ive done a clean install, tried with a local encoder and everything and nothing makes it work.

para2022 avatar Mar 15 '24 21:03 para2022

but could you reproduce it on demo site?
