Great start - 2024 and more bugs are back
My site has been running perfectly through xmas until the recent updates yet again. As soon as a do an update the pain starts again. I am lucky to ever have a working site for more than 1-2 weeks.
Message of the day is now broken. It repeats the message twice now. So cant even use that to update users of issues.
All my encoders are broken and i lost a days worth of videos due to broken files. Updated the encoders and now an ajax error. Once my site is working again i dont think im gonna bother with anymore updates, its getting way to stressful when there is no need at all. It works, it doesn't, it works, it doesn't is a constant pattern of my site. The stress from my users complaining endlessly is really getting me down now. I have hardly any users left cos they've had enough. Which means my site is potentially closing this year. Looking for an alternative to start again with. The continuous site breaking bugs has Killed my site off. My problem with AVideo is the websites are the beta testers as i dont see any beta testing going on with these updates behind the scents or they wouldn't be relentlessly broken. Its not practical for all avideo websites to be so broken all the time and constantly needing fixing.
Hi, make sure your plugins are up to date (all of them)
and share the ajax error of your encoders
Plugins are all updated. Cant even upload anything anymore. Encoders are all broken and direct upload is broken so is mp4togif.
- Encoders gives an Ajax error on 'start upload' button.
- Direct upload process works the upload but the video does not play just a spinner continuously. No thumbnails are added, plugin still broken.
None of this was happening and i have users kicking off left right and centre with nasty emails aimed at me as they obviously assme its all my fault saying why dont i leave the site alone when its working. I never ever mess with my servers when they are running. All i ever do is git pull which mostly always breaks my site in lesser or greater degrees. This is the biggest problem to date as the direct upload is a fall back for when the encoders are broken and that is broken too. So no uploads on my site since i updated it on the 1st

Storage plugin is breaking the uploads.

This is with the storage plugin set to local. The previous post is with it set to storage. Unyet all videos play on the site and i can access the storage. So it is now broken. Yes it was updated.
I sent some updates today, can you please make a git pull, clear the cache and try again?
Ive done all that already, i rebooted and also had a load of plugins to update, did that. No difference. Updated YPTStorage also and the issue is still there. If i turn it off direct upload works and generates the thumbnails.

I did this earlier today, and i always clear cache after updates.
I have one encoder that was not updated and it works perfect. The other 2 that were updated do not grab a thumbnail, it is delivered on the site with no image and blank but plays. The gif is there if i scroll over it but no jpeg. I can grab it using the plugin 'get jpeg/gif'.
Direct upload only works with storage set to local. if it is set to storage then it is a blank upload that doesnt play with no image. So 2 different bugs.
Regarding the encoder share your js console log
Also provide some screenshots
Is your storage plugin disabled? if yes enable it, I need it to be able to test

Frrom left to right.
- Encoder 3 which is the local encoder. Updated. Fails to make thumbnails and displays black
- Encoder 2 which is a remote server that was NOT updated works fine. You can see it works fine with both Mp4 and Webm. Enc 2 Test = webm format and Enc 2 Test (Mp4) is MP4 format
- Direct upload test (with thumbnail and working) - This was with storage set to local and worked perfectly.
- Direct upload test (blank) - This is blank and does not work. It was uploaded with storage set to storage and not local.

Encoder 1 is the ajax error but im not bothered about that as it probs just needs reinstalling, so il leave that for now.
I do not think PHP version is the issue.
but I am surprised you said the YPTStorage plugin is enabled and it is pointing to the wrong file (Dummy)
what is the output for this SQL?

whilst were was chatting storage was set to local and now it is back to storage again as thats where the problem lies. i will check sql for you now.
That is one issue.
when the file transfer happens from local to the storage, if fails to set the storage ID.
you MUST check your AVideo log when you transfer a file to the storage.
It probably fails somewhere.

I do not have an AVideo dir dan and is their a new popup on the encoder functions? it has a popup now that hides the upload progress asking for image and description ect
I have uploaded to the local encoder and no errors in AVideo log. No JS errors. Encoder 3 (local encoder) works but does not add images so it is unlikely to provide an error. It is Direct Upload where the videos do not play. Encoder uploads play but are blank with no images. I already described this earlier with the image going from left to right.
Direct upload is completely broken with storage and the encoders do not produce images but the videos play which is a separate issue because they do not produce images with storage on local.

This is not a bug, this is what we expect, you can enter the info while the file is being uploaded. or you can just ignore and cancel the popup
I guess there is an error somewhere, you just cannot find it.
I just did a direct upload to the demo site with a storage and it works fine.

How come i can do this.
I can upload with storage set to local. Then move it to remote storage in the my videos panel and it works fine? btw i love the new animation when its moving it to storage. So the direct uploads wont move to storage on upload but they will when i move them there. As where the encoders move to storage and work but have no images. Makes no sense whatsoever. It was all working fine prior. Also the fact encoder 2 works perfect and was never updated is enough proof the updates have broken the encoders.
