Everything working beautifully but got a notification that Google Play Services is out of date with a request to update. Stuck on "Preparing system update..."

I think you should wait for Microsoft to update WSA.

I don't know for certain, but I'm guessing that the solution is to rebuild the WSA package from scratch and install that. OpenGApps updates their packages on occasion, so doing this should give you working and updated Play Services libraries.

This won't help anything. Microsoft's WSA packages include Amazon libraries, not Google Play libraries. Unless Microsoft says "We're now partnering with Google to provide Play Store support," no Microsoft update will help with Google Play issues.

On a normal phone the system partition is not writable anyway the apps just get masked by what's in the userdata partition. So this may be a permission issue? Or maybe Gapps needs an indication that system is not writable
