Custom questions+answers not translatable

Attempting to translate the website into multiple languages, and coming across a glaring issue: custom questions are not translatable, at least not via any of the common translation plugins for WordPress (LocoTranslate, WPML, etc.). It seems like they're not encoded in such a way as to be discoverable, and thus translateable. Unfortunately, this makes the plugin pretty much unusable on a multi-language site if you need custom questions.
