2.15.14 added sermons short code date filter - changed behavior - website no longer works as intended

The changes made in 2.15.14 in the class-sm-settings-display.php file changed the behavior of the sermons shortcut. Before 2.15.14, there was no filter to make sure the preached_date was in the past. You also added options for sorting.

We would still like the preach date to be the displayed date(so we can’t change our sort order to publish date), but would not like to have future sermons filtered out, because they have attachments and scripture information we’d like to show ahead of time. Would it be possible to revert the changes just for the sermons short code, or add a new option in order to gives us this functionality back? In the meantime I have reverted to 2.15.13.
