Adopt modern WP frontend standards

Noted in #1 : we should be consuming the WordPress eslint packages and write our frontend code with those standards in mind. A build process I see as optional but it would be potentially useful. This is low-priority vs getting the PHP auth flow hammered out, style things can be cleaned up and refactored much later.
