Flag and manual correction for missing essential metadata on DOI lookup quickstatement generation
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. The current quickstatement generation doesn't seem to flag when there is missing metadata. It shouldn't prevent generating the quickstatement, but should alert the user that data is missing.
Example: Q136093481 was generated from Scholia's quickstatement off of DOI 10.3983/TWC.2017.917 Crossref didn't have a title field thus no label or title were provided in the quickstatement to create the Q. I subsequently contacted crossref and they contacted the metadata provider to correct this missing error, but this would have been more visible if Scholia helped warn before allowing to proceed to creating the Q.
Describe the solution you'd like
- Flag the user after generating the quickstatement that essential metadata is missing. Then list the missing metadata. In this case it was missing the title field and label, so Scholia could have listed "missing title and label". Ideally then there would be a field to manually enter the missing metadata and regenerate the quickstatement while flagging that a manual correction was needed from this DOI or making it a second statement to note the manual edit upon import (for provenance on the data and checking if crossref is providing all the necessary information).
Describe alternatives you've considered Currently I import and add the missing information.
Additional context It would be nice to have warning and correction as part of the Scholia import workflow to add flags on the data that is missing to help detect more systemic issues.
