I can take a look, but I started a condensed course which takes up most of my time so it will take some time.

@fyiimysf In what way do you want me to support this because from what I see in their code they use the Steam compatibility tools. There doesn't seem to be a way for it to work without Steam installed.

Yeah i looked into the code aswell they use custom scripts to download Proton versions, but i assumed one could link the download destination of the proton verisions of Faugus Launcher and manage it in ProtonPlus and then we could add custom Proton Verision that we wanted, tho im not sure how would that work, Thanks for looking into it tho 🙌🏻

I'll check in a VM this week how the launcher works without Steam installed and see what I can do.

it does work without steam, I have been using it for a while without it. it relies on umu. I think it just uses the same folder as steam for proton.

umu uses the modified steam runtime, it checks for in when you run it and downloads the latest version, I don't think it uses the one that comes with steam directly. yes Heroic has umu support now too.

Someone on my youtube channel was asking about this so it is good to see a issue has been opened for it already :)

I myself would like to see the support but i also dont rlly mind as faugus grabs the latest ge-proton anyways.

I started to mess around with it last week, but I did not have enough time to finish it. This weekend is too packed since I have some exams next week. The next weekend I should be able to continue.

My course end in March so by then I will have a lot of free time and I will be able to add things way faster like I would want. I am sorry if this is taking quite some time to add.

No No its totally fine, focus on your studies, I found out it works with ProtonUp-Qt read it in a comment somewhere (haven not tried it yet). Good luck with your course brother God Speed

I just read https://github.com/DavidoTek/ProtonUp-Qt/issues/461 and it seems like they use a Steam folder for runners even if you don't have Steam installed which is pretty weird. I really don't know what to do with your request. You can technically already download runners for Faugus Launcher if you have Steam installed since Faugus will pick up the runners from Steam.

It is totally fine, this can be implemented later on maybe they change the Steam folder for runners, I personally dont have Steam installed and use GOG for most games. So from my understanding of how it works I should able to normally download any custom proton version for Steam using ProtonPlus right? I coud try it again and let yk (I previously did but it didnt work)

I don't think the creator will change the folder since he decided to implement his own runner manager. I haven't tried myself, but I will test later today.
