Controller model permanently disappears after 10 minutes of idle

Steps to preproduce:

  • Create scene and add "Vive Camera Rig" and "Vive Pointers" (does not matter which controller type you select so leave default)
  • Build scene and install APK to Oculus Quest 2 headset (may be a problem on other headsets, not sure)
  • Observe controller model in scene is visible.
  • Do not quit app, but just put down headset and controller on table.
  • Wait 10 minutes.
  • Put on headset.
  • Controller models have disappeared and will not come back even with shaking controller or pressing buttons on it.

Expected outcome:

  • Controller models should appear when waking up controller again.

The reproducibility percentage with my headset is around 75% of the time where I see the controller models gone. It could be that the headset doesn't fully idle on the times the models appear. Also, not sure what idle time triggers problem or if waiting a lot longer still works, but 10 minutes causes the problem almost every time. Thanks.

Hi @bearaccount, Are you using the latest version(v1.17.0) from Unity Package Manager? If yes, it is a known issue and please maually update the patch. There are a few more commits if you are developing in OpenXR. If your issue is not resolved, please let me know, thanks!
