Cannot enter User name

When I "create user", I click the entry box. The keyboard opens, but covers the entry box. I enter my name, click the enter button. The "user name" is empty.

Try typing your name and then add space? like this I guess

Tried adding space but it did not work. I tried autocomplete, but it only copied partial name. For example, Philip became "lip" in the entry box. I gave up, and accepted User1 as my username.

I am using a Redmi Note 7 on Miui 12 if that helps.

@git-tiger @seyo-IV Try using a different keyboard application (SwiftKey or something)

Default is "Google Cantonese Input", then tried "Gboard", but same result. Would be nice to rotate the screen to portrait so see the input box. Then, I would know if anything is entered into the box.

I use a physical keyboard and it isnt working on android release 4 aswell. Regarding the video: No im not holding down the backspace button or any button at all, the box seems to remove all text by itself

To add onto my last comment it seems as the text field starts deleting characters permanently once the backspace button has been pressed once for the session. Session in this case means that once you suspend the app into the background it removes the "Backspace-Lock" and you can start typing characters normally. Note that this doesnt fix the bug because as soon as the backspace button is pressed again the "Backspace-Lock" is activated again. This information was gathered with a physical keyboard but this most likely also applies to software keyboards aswell.
