Same entity in multiple places within the same navigation

I would like to link the same page in different places within my navigation, which I think is a fairly common use case.

However, it seems it is not possible, since in the config UI, once a page has been added to a navigation, it cannot be selected anymore from the entity field.

Is there a way to work around this limitation? Are there plans to relax this constraint in future versions?
