Ability to scale entity x and z independently

I doubt this would be able to be cleanly implemented, as no entity capable of continuous motion has a base hitbox which is not a square. Perhaps each 45 degree window would cause the hitbox rectangle to snap accordingly? Or the hitbox could permanently be for the largest of the two values as to decrease weirdness?
