Remove proprietary fonts

Open bkmgit opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

A number of the fonts in the installed subpackages do not have open licenses. Can they be removed? Noto Sans CJK maybe a reasonable replacement. Happy to implement this, suggestions for other openly licensed fonts would be great.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will consider this, but some open fonts released by Google or Adobe have been included, for example, fonts in https://github.com/VincentWei/minigui-res/tree/master/adobe-fonts.

Ok. Want to make MiniGUI available in linux distributions as a package. Want to make sure it can work without proprietary fonts, or replace the proprietary fonts with free ones.

I see. MiniGUI can run without the proprietary fonts.

For this requirement, we can consider to use the option of configure script. Currently, the script provides an option called mgedition, but it does not exclude the proprietary fonts according to the option.
