Watch Later (like youtube)
description
Are there plans to add feature similar to "watch later" that you tube have?
acceptance criterias
- [ ] Add possibility for signed in users to bookmark videos for watching later by adding them to the list
- [ ] Bonus feature - home page could show "Watch later" category with bookmarked videos
- [ ] Optional - beside default "Watch later" list, maybe there can be possibility to add yt link to any,new named list (e.g. music, diy, etc...)
soft ping: anybody interested in this feature?
+1 !
A general bookmark feature for Videos and Playlists, like in NewPipe, would be very nice.
My use case: Some channels maintain playlists for series. And I like to "subscribe" to those and be able to jump back in where I left or continue when a new video was added.
@wnhrt is that different from described in a intial comment? It is confusing that you added subscribe to the playlist to the bookmark enchancement, but maybe I misunderstood. Could you clarify, edit your comment?
As I understand your proposal, you want a single "Playlist", e.g. named "Watch later", where users can add Videos. I like that and prefer if that would become a more general bookmark feature, like you wrote at the "Optional" key point. So that users not only can bookmark videos, but also playlists. My comment should simply describe a use case, where this can be useful. "Subscribe to playlist" was meant as "add this playlist to my bookmarks", if that clarifies my thought.
I see. I'm not aware of "remembering where did I left the playlist feature" in youtube, guess this is implicitly visible via saved playlist and saved info about watched video. Maybe I am mistaken, but have a feeling that your idea belongs more to subscrition domain, rather than simple bookmark for later.
For the start, I would like to have minimal simple feature to save videos for watching later. After that is available, it will be easier to build on it. I always preffer KISS (keep it super simple) over bigger features, so it comes out faster in next iteration. How this sounds?
Any comment on this @moisout
Hi, at the moment I'm quite busy and still working on the new video player. But a simple "video bookmark" feature doesn't sound too difficult to implement. I think that's what I'll be implementing as a first version
Would be nice
