screen freezes on update interval shortly

When the extension is enabled to show the GPU temp (Nvidia card) the whole screen freezes shortly every second (update interval set to 1 second in extension settings). Moving windows around continuously results in a 'jump' every second. Disabling the extension fixes issue.
