There were no logs different. I even left it there for a couple minutes to see if any error popped up. Anyways I managed to fix it following the next...
I compiled this using Rust stable (**1.27.2**) now **1.28** Though I think upstream could use cargo-deb to build some binaries, however providing a Debian stable package is currently not possible...
Maybe if Ubuntu ships with the necessary dependencies, we are lucky the project does not need Rust nightly for now.
Same with `mate-hud` packaged for Debian 11. I don't know if there is a package missing from the dependencies (might be) or if there is a permission / applet issue.
I'll try adding those to `~/.profile` and report back, however there is no `unity-gtk-*` packages on Debian, only the gir objects and some common libraries, scopes and tools.
Update: tried with both snippet and without the snippet but GTK applications show duplicated menus and the HUD is nowhere to be found. In both cases I get this error...

I don't know if the PR author can read these messages 😅 if no response is given I can open another PR using their changes + documentation.
Agreed. Code should be the primary focus. Other movements can have their own websites/platforms.
