Activation via the command line appears to be broken
I am trying to run a linux server and have found that the activation command line appears to be broken.
This won't work in either linux (via wine) or even in windows.
It works fine if I open vu.exe and it performs the non cli based activation.
I am fairly certain this is in a broken state. Is anybody able to confirm?
Alternatively is this a known issue with a current work around?
vu.com -gamepath "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 3" -activate -o_mail myemail -o_pass mypass
Use -activate -lsx -wait on windows (with ea app running in background) to get a token. Then copy that token and do -activate -ea_token "yourToken" on your server.
Worked thank you.
Ok so this was working for a while while I was putting together a docker container. It's now not working when regenerating a new token - that token always fails also. I suspect I could have been banned or rate limited or something? (although ea in windows on that account works fine).
Is there any way to get a more detailed error message?
You only need to activate the game once. Idk how many tokens you can generate before getting banned/ rate limited. Also dunno how many times in a row you can activate the game before getting banned/rate limited. But that’s probably the cause. Just try tomorrow again and make sure you don’t re-activate it on every startup.
