Little to no information provided on server connection failure

Needed to connect to a custom local application re-implementing a debug server protocol, and trying to connect only returned "Failed to connect to the debug server". The issue ended up being related to the Platform selection, and brute forcing my way through the options resolved it.

iirc LLDB gives exactly that failure info -- I will see if there is any way to provide better context
