Window to confirm purchase closes unexpectedly

Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 7.6.2022 3:18:43
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Debian
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

The window to confirm purchase closes unexpectedly when moving window leading to cancellation. Window is opened for additional verification of purchase (shows bank's own page). If user moves the window the confirmation is cancelled and purchase is cancelled.

So, for some reason, that window is closing when it is only being moved in the desktop.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. add a thing to cart, proceed to purchase
  2. upon selecting purchase, new window is opened to confirm it (strong verification method)
  3. move the window on the desktop (grab from middle of title bar, or try to resize the window)
  4. window closes and the verification is rejected

Hypothesis: does resizing or moving cause refreshing the page instead of simply showing "viewport" in different location? If so, could that be the cause? Or maybe it is simply coincidence caused by something else entirely..

For the user one needs to be really careful when the window is open and if it is slightly too small checking the contents can be annoying.
