Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Run Steam
  2. Open any game
  3. Wait some time, Steam crashes

I'm having the same issue.

openSUSE Leap 15.3

Steam client application Built: May 14 2022 at 00:03:20 Steam API: v020 Steam Package versions 1652488014

The crashes started months ago and but I didn't start running from the terminal to see warnings and errors until recently. For me, it usually crashes once a day, sometimes twice. If a game is running when Steam crashes, it takes the game with it. The last 3 crashes all had:

g_object_notify: object class 'NMAccessPoint' has no property named '\xb0\u0006~\xe3'

An example of the full line is: (steam:18091): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: 12:45:48.799: g_object_notify: object class 'NMAccessPoint' has no property named '\xb0\u0006~\xe3'

I notice that just after "WARNING" is a time stamp but the time stamp has always been about 5 mins before the game I'm playing crashes and I notice Steam has crashed as well. So I don't know for sure if Steam crashed 5 mins before and it took 5 mins for the game to freeze or if the warning came up 5 mins before and Steam crashed 5 mins later along with the game.

On May 8, I had a crash with: (steam:30316): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: 21:12:49.269: g_object_notify: object class 'NMDeviceWifi' has no property named '\xb8\xc3P\xc2'

This appears to be related to WiFi being enabled.

I had WiFi enabled but not connected to a network (I use Ethernet) - it was just detecting local networks). It did have a saved configuration for a wireless network at a different location, so if it was there, it would have connected.

After disabling WiFi the crashes stopped (I haven't had one in over a week).

@N-Prime my computer does not have a WiFi card installed, thanks

I'm also running into this issue. Steam periodically crashes, whereas no other program on my system does this. The closest links I have are buggy nvidia driver interactions (again, steam is the only program that does this; games themselves don't crash, but steam itself), poor switch pro controller support (valve continues to refuse to use the hid-nintendo driver in favour of their own, buggy version), and bugs related to old electron versions. I'm willing to send core dumps to someone if this helps investigate (I can accumulate several), but would rather do so via a non-public channel since they are raw memory dumps.
