Vulkan games crash during gameplay
Your system information
- Steam client version (build number or date): 1.0.0.71-1
- Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch Linux
- Opted into Steam client beta?: No
- Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Around half an hour into playing a Vulkan game, the game freezes and crashes (along with Steam) leaving the following error message:
../common/pipes.cpp (770) : Assertion Failed: fatal stalled cross-thread pipe
I have tried reinstalling the games in question and Steam, as well as changing kernel and graphics drivers.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- Start a Vukan game, whether DXVK, VKD3D or stock Vulkan
- Play for around half an hour (leaving it sitting open will do it for me)
- The game will crash - if Steam was initially launched from the terminal then the error mentioned above will appear in the terminal window
I never got this type of crash. I play all sort of games and they do not crash. Only games that can crash is when i play games that do not support my distro exactly. Most of them support most used distros, like Ubuntu. When i switch to their recommended distro, i never got i crash for those games. And: you gave just a small info that can't be used. any game that running Vulkan or DXVK ar anyting else is DIFFERENT some games may crash, some may not, some can run smooth, some not. And about me: I'm a gamer and any-distro tryer.

Happening to me as well. Just started again.
Seems to be Vulcan related. Tried multiple games. But for simplicity sake I am just attaching one. steam-1593500.log
