When setting up my Dualsense Edge controller on Steam I am unable to configure Gyro input at all for specifically my Dualsense Edge. Unlike the Edge if I plug in my regular Dualsense controller I am able to configure Gyro controllers without issue.
I recently switched from Windows 11 to Linux Mint, on Windows 11 I was able to configure Gyro on the Dualsense Edge with no problem.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
(Playstation Controller Support is enabled in steam.)
- Plug in Dualsense Edge via USB
- Go to Steam Settings > Controller > Calibration & Advanced Settings
- The option to calibrate and configure gyro is missing, like Gyro does not exist. (same thing with LED settings.) If you perform these same steps but with a regular Dualsense controller, or are on Windows 11 there is no issue with configuring and using Gyro controls.
As an update this also includes games with native Gyro support for the Dualsense controller. This was observed specifically in THE FINALS. A regular Dualsense controller picks up perfectly fine and shows Playstation glyphs, using a Dualsense Edge makes the gyro controls unavailable as well the game show Xbox glyphs.
I've fixed this issue by installing the files from this website https://codeberg.org/fabiscafe/game-devices-udev
Anyone else with this issue, follow the guide for either your distro or "Others" and after rebooting your computer your Dualsense Edge should work like it's suppose to.
