Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Updating ARK dedi server through SteamCMD randomly (sometimes) causes corrupt/missing chunk errors during validation, followed by steamcmd segfault, even run back-to-back.
also confirmed by installing another dedi (7 days to die) with the same symptoms.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
-
~/Steam/steamcmd.sh +login anonymous +app_update 294420 validate +quit - Run repeatedly until segfault (maybe 1/5 of the time)
I've rolled up a fresh fedora and nobara vm, and can't replicate it, even on the same drive. Not sure how to troubleshoot this further unfortunately.
Still occurring with version 1718904263.
I managed to get a core dump for this: coredump.zip
