Missing "Room Overview" button
In beta 1.10.28 I notice that the button to display the room overview in the developer settings showing the tracked space and light house position/orientation is no longer present.
Is it possible to get it back somehow? Is it being replaced by another tool?
This was one of the most important developer tools in SteamVR, so I'm really hoping it's just on a brief hiatus.
The media player recently vanished but silently came back again, so maybe we'll get the room overview back as well? I used to instruct people in using it when they wondered if their Lighthouse placement was bad or not, that's a bit hard now 😅
I mean we could make a new tool that does the same, but why reinvent the wheel? If maintenance/support is dropped, maybe make it open source? 😗
It wasn't a separate EXE is making it open source would be problematic I imagine
Of course making the whole thing open source, drivers and all, isn't something I'd be against I have to say 😛
Any new news on this? For debugging and setting up play areas this is needed, not sure why this would be removed for being such an essential tool.
B U M P THREAD.
Bring it back, please.
any update on this coming back? Is it still in the project somewhere just not exposed in the UI?
Had to set my playspace up again and noticed this was missing. It was super useful. Please bring it back.
I'm having this problem too
1,5 years passed since topic starter was opened this thread and still nothing. Is there at least a little hope to success to solve this request?

Seriously. How could anyone think this tool was optional?? It is absolutely essential for proper installation and troubleshooting of a lighthouse-based VR setup. Where's the replacement?
Pretty sure we can't rely on third parties for this either, because AFAIK only SteamVR itself knows where the base stations are and doesn't pass that on to apps. It's why the closest anyone has gotten is base station 'skins' that help visualize the view cones within the SteamVR dashboard, and last I looked even those were no longer available.
The absence of this tool was already a massive PITA when it came to troubleshooting, but I'm about to move out of the apartment I've been living in for over a decade, and that means I'll be setting up my VR space from scratch without the tools to ensure that I get it right! 😑

Basestations are available as tracked devices, IIRC their role is “Tracking Reference”
It’s just nobody has bothered to make a new one yet

Well crap, if that's true I might as well crack open Unity and see about knocking something together myself once I get settled in the new place. 🤨
Thanks, kind internet stranger. 👍
bump thread.
Not ideal, but maybe this is helpfull for some people.
