HL1 setting FOV below 90 breaks weapon crosshairs

Open Q3BFG10K opened this issue 2 months ago • 2 comments

E.g. default_fov 85, then switch to another gun.

357 has a forced laser pointer instead of its crosshair, and the crossbow's crosshair goes extra wide. There may be others with issues.

There is nothing strange about it since goldscr games were created to be played with a FOV of 90.

Also, for something the game never had an option in the menu to configure the FOV and it was always capped at 90°

@Diegoparedeshd1 This has nothing to do with manually changing the default_fov value. If you equip the crossbow, use the scope (secondary attack), and then switch to the .357 Magnum, the crosshair will immediately change to the red dot upon switching, as if you had pressed the secondary attack button.
