[CS] Increase in players disconnecting "Unable to connect to Steam"

There is a huge number of players disconnecting involuntarily with message "Unable to connect to Steam" recently

"Also happens to me in Half-Life, and several of my friends who play Half-Life have also experienced it frequently on the servers we've always played on. It occurs after being connected to the server for a few minutes: 'unable to connect to steam.'"

This is likely because the steam client (hl.exe "-steam") no longer injects properly into the game, when you're on the main menu you would typically see Steam logo and options on the right side of the screen but that's no longer the case at least for me.

This is the same behavior you'd get on the old halflife/cs 1.6 if you launched cs 1.6 directly with just these parameters. hl.exe -game cstrike

Steam would previously launch as follows hl.exe -game cstrike -steam

when will you fix this? is this a server issue or a client connection issue? players still dropping like flies
