let players optimize brightness / lightgamma

Open APT-ZERO opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

in old CS 1.6 clients i enter command lightgamma 0.00 before joining a server or even when i play offline

this is game with default lightgamma : image and this is game with 'lightgamma 0.00' image

but in new CS 1.6 client all commands that have effect on brightness are unchangeable even with sv_cheats on please let us change this settings and add command for server to let players join with custom brightness config

and if possible a link to the build 8196 for steam/windows

Hello @thisisthelongestusernameyouhaveeverseen, see the discussion on #232, in particular, https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife/issues/232#issuecomment-485054826 and https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife/issues/232#issuecomment-504518275.

Hello, I had read them before i post this

look at this picture that user [Splatt581] uploaded in #2218, even with that bug! with brightness 999! still that corner is dark! image now see how dark is it in new client with fixed variables, can see literally nothing!!!

maybe players who use latest version of CS 1.6 use 'Black Stabilizer' of their new gaming monitors to be able to play but most of CS 1.6 players are using old clients because of this

Ok this guy is spitting facts, my TN panel monitor is absolutely fine while playing maps like dust2 or train but my IPS on the other hand... It feels like I'm playing a horror game and I have a 20/20 eyesight.

Bugging brightness/gamma cmds before joining a server results in bans often times, so this would be really good to have.
