Blurred Crosshairs
When HL1 moved to Steam crosshairs were blurry and hard to see.

Cause?
This issue exists in HL and CS 1.6 as well (the CS spectator' crosshair for instance, or the zoomed sniper red dot, and all the crosshairs in hl1). It would be a really nice fix indeed, to unblur the sprites just like they were in the protocol 46 (hl 1.1.1.0). Since HL came on steam I filled bugreports in the Steam support website already regarding this with examples (a long time ago).

Fix it please i would love the quality and brightness of Won crosshairs as shown in pafts link, means i can finally change my crosshairs to a better pack thats so blurry at present !
I think the difference is they added mipmap filtering on sprites as well, I didn't manage to get a lot of information on it

it's probably a very easy fix yes : also the issue happens not only with crosshair sprites but all sprites in general, notice in WON HL1 the blood for instance was really different and thicker too.. it would be a really nice fix and for people who like the current sprite rendering maybe there can be a new client variable for this? gl_....
this would be a really awesome fix if it can be done, ive been longing for those WON style clarity of crosshairs for a long time
maybe the ability to customise crosshairs for each weapon with sizing options like in tf2 ?
That may be too much to ask, they've got plenty on the "to-do" list as it is. I'd be surprised if they fix this anyway.
I cannot reproduce this on my windows machine with an nvidia card. No matter the texture blend mode the renderer cursor (when opted into the steam pipe beta) renders the same to the screen. Does this bug still happen? Can people post their OS details and comparative screenshots if they do see it happen.
Well, I just updated to beta and they're still blurred. Everyone gets this and has done since Steam.
I don't, so not everyone. If you do then please provide the details I asked for so I can narrow down what is happening.

The same. It isn't as noticeable with the defaults because they are already hard to see (on high res) since they are 1 pixel thick.
Don't you have access to pre Steam HL to compare? Also, as adnmynjh said, "the issue happens not only with crosshair sprites but all sprites in general,".

@mikela-valve is this fixable in the new small beta updates ?
