Feature request : hide mouse cursor

Open Glog78 opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

I have seen some options towards cursor handling inside of gamescope. I try to make syberia and there is one annoyance left. The Game itself paints a mouse cursor and show the desktop mouse cursor. Current gamescope -C 0 doesn't fit this usecase (the mousecursor is painted from time to time when the mouse moves). I got --cursor work in glxgears but from inside of steam the cursor doesn't change (proton 5.13-6) with the specific game. Could the maybe be an option like -C off for fully switching the cursor off without re enabling after mouse movement? I can understand if that request is denied because you could argue this is a "wine / proton" bug. Thank's for reading and this awesome software.

I would like to bump this request. My use-case would be for the Steam Deck. For some emulators which emulates a touchscreen (and mobile games ported to PC), the cursor can't be disabled by the program natively. This results in the cursor appearing when touching the screen. Having this option would be awesome for those kinds of use-cases, as it would provide a more native experience.

Not to bump things, but I've found quite a few edge cases where the cursor should disappear, but instead shows a partial cursor graphic. Having the ability in Gamescope to hide the cursor would streamline some of my more esoteric setups quite a lot.

Would be useful for Chuzzle Deluxe as well. The game has an option to use a custom cursor, but without Gamescope it doesn't work and with Gamescope it works but the regular cursor is drawn on top.

My use case is Waydroid. Waydroid provides it's own mouse cursor. The "-C 0" show the host cursor any time during I move the mouse :-( Command line option to fully hide the cursor will be nice. Maybe possible using --cursor option and "invisible cursor " file, but I did not get such cursor file yet.

SomnaBuster is another game I need this for; the cursor doesn't disappear when using a controller.
