High cpu usage

Open psychaos999 opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hi, I'm on manjaro (gnome/wayland) With both gamescope and gamescope-git, gamescope process cpu usage ranges from 20% to 90% (4cpu processor). Sometimes it also use up to 20% memory (of 8Gb). Command line is a non esotic one: gamescope -W 1680 -H 1050 -f --

I'm doing something wrong?

Thank in advance

Can replicate the high cpu usage at 20-25% with 4 threads. Never went beyond that. Could not replicate high RAM usage, stable 70mib usually.

I tried without -f and it doesn't change anything.

I'm having the same problem consistently on the latest version with Intel Xe Graphics. Sometimes after waiting for a while the CPU usage drops considerably, but I'm not sure what causes it.

I can also confirm this. Running on an Intel i5 7200u w/ Intel HD Graphics 620, gamescope has really high cpu usage, to the point that it isn't even worth enabling on games; hovering between 20-30% for around 10 minutes before dropping to a more "normal" low usage.

The process running under gamescope or the upscale settings doesn't seem to change this.
