Enabling night mode on the OLED Steam Deck causes framerate drop

Doesn't seem to happen in my LCD Deck. Only on the OLED.

This happens identically on my LCD, so it's not an exclusive one for the OLED. Not on all games tho, but it might be CPU load dependent.

Can confirm that this is an issue.

Girlfriend's LCD Deck is also exhibiting this. I haven't tested mine yet, but will update when I do.

OLED deck here. Can repro every time I toggle night mode.

This behavior should be fixed in the latest main changes in gamescope for me, if you are feeling adventurous please try to update to main and check if it happens again. Just be warned that you can potentially have bigger issues by switching to it.

There has been no code change that would affect this issue in Gamescope or Main OS, so very strange that you are seeing that.

Perhaps your unit is in a bad state under Main where it is always compositing.

I think it was like a mesa/kernel change a couple of months ago IIRC, can't remember the specific change tho. It might be something related to compositing, when I get home I can search for this specific commit that fixed that for me, I remember it quite well how frame drops disappeared during transitioning.
