Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
The performance drop occurs only in CS2, no such problem was found in other titles. The longer the session (20-30-45-60min), the more the fps drops, down to 20-30fps Strange behavior of the video card from the first launch of the game, the percentage of usage and load fluctuates most often from 100% to 0% approximately (100% -2%, 100% -24%, 100% -0%, 100% -34%, 100% -0%, 100% -1%, in the interval of 1-2 seconds and this cycle does not cause the picture to freeze or stutter, but the average fps just drops to 20 over time)
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- The behavior of the video card and its load is not constantly 100% as is usually the case in games, but cyclically fluctuates between 100% and 0% for unknown reasons
- maybe sometimes when alt + tab when minimizing the game this can happen (this is not exactly)
- Perhaps because of a non-standard monitor (21: 9 3440x1440) in the game 2560x1080, when changing the resolution or display mode, nothing changes. Although everything worked fine before these problems.
- I've tested it on a different laptop hardware: OS: Void Linux x86_64 Kernel: Linux 6.12.20_1 DE: Xfce4 4.20 WM: Xfwm4 (X11) CPU: 12th Gen Intel i9-12900H (20) @ 4.900GHz GPU: Intel Alder Lake-P GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics] (Laptop) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU 8GB Memory: 32GB RAM No problems with the above were found.
bump
I faced a different issue, where the performance for me decreased substantially at random moments, also leading to high frametimes.
I wonder if it could be vram being allocated to system memory and not being moved back
The trend of performance degradation remains as described above (0-100% jumping gpu load, note that the video card is working at its factory specifications problem only in this game), but it should be noted that at the time when the first post was written about the problem, things were worse, now the average fps is better, but this bug with performance degradation persisted, cured only by restarting the game. Unfortunately I could not catch it, a floating problem with performance degradation.
- in addition, I noticed that when opening the scoreboard table in the game and opening the stim player profile performance degrades (this is not exact)
- when you tab scoreboard table there is a microfreeze because of this also drops performance opening mini player profile and navigation buttons (most often there is a drop)
- alt+tab performance drops a lot (this is not exact)
- when opening shift+tab steam overlay (this is not exact) roughly described all scenarios where there is a drop in performance, most often encountered at point 5. 6.
- after restarting the game 3-4 times avg fps more than the first start, which is also strange.
Link to video, the result of performance degradation, which fell from avg 130 fps to 30-40, sometimes the trend of performance degradation is gradual, as if something is stealing idk how to describe it :), sometimes immediately falls to low values.
