Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

CS2 crashes irregularly in matches - sometimes with segfault. Following error message is being shown: **

VKRenderThread [3519] general protection fault ip:7f196aa17f8a sp:7f18dd7fe2c0 error:0 in libnvidia-glcore.so.535.171.04[7f19694f9000+269e000]

** It occurs on several Linux distributions (see above) and also with different kernels.

It also occurs with flatpak and native steam. It also occurs with X11 and wayland.

Besides, I've noticed that the segfault tends to occur more frequently when using the in-game voice chat and pressing the mic button. This might indicate an issue with the voice chat integration. It would be great to investigate this angle further. Let me know if you need any additional logs or details.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Start CS2
  2. Play the game and irregular crashes occur.

Seems cs does not run on Linux and has lots of issues. I have spent days figuring it out. please don’t market it as running on Linux.

+push again.

Cloud the GPU boost when running GPU intensive games lead to the shutting-down of the game due to too high temperature? Just had a crash again with a "protection fault" error message. Still open.

I have this same exact sort of issue with Dota 2 currently running Garuda (Arch) XFCE using Nvidia 470 series drivers on a GTX660 Ti 2gb with a system from about 2012 (ddr3 RAM, a dual core AMD 270 cpu 3.4ghz etc) it runs great in Windows and every other game runs fine till i try something using Vulkan and Dota2 in particular runs fantastic now until it just freezes at random... often after / during menu changes, especially at end of the game when trying to load the scoreboard/animations screen it almost 95% of the time will freeze there. i have tried Xubuntu (v 22 with older kernel as suggested by others with my old nvidia card/driver) and dota2 just straight up CTD at random there about with 3-10x frequency, so i have now reinstalled Garuda a bunch of times while testing different settings and setups one at a time; like new kernels, since i can't actually change the driver easily, in hopes of stumbling upon a working setup. i'm on the edge of needing to just buy a new gfx card; something AMD or intel, but i've not yet done a debug/log-heavy run to try and trace the error (which i can reproduce easily and quickly now on a fresh install of everything; including the system and kernel logs which say one of 2-3 things every time), and i feel like if the audio issue was fixed it might fix everything else. There's a bit of stutter/static usually to the rendering at same time the audio breaks/crackles, and frequently it freezes the system right then as well.... one of the crash log entries clearly shows something related to audio, but the other 2 common ones are segfault like this one (glcore.so), and another that talks about invalid elf handles on some other libs i'm about to test : LD_PRELOAD="" %command% and switching off the overlay, since i'm not sure gamescope will run on my GTX660 Ti and 470xx nvidia drivers =\
