CS2 crash when loading into nuke or vertigo with bots

Open parona-source opened this issue 1 year ago • 17 comments

Your system information

  • System information from steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) in a gist:
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

And I have verified the integrity of my files to see if anything was wrong there. No missing files found.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

CS2 crashes consistently when I try to load into nuke or vertigo. Every other map loads without crashing (Active duty, Reserves group and Hostage maps)

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. In practise map selection pick nuke or vertigo
  2. Play

cs2_crashdump_vertigo.tar.gz

Can confirm the same thing happens on my end, using Arch Linux. Neither Nuke or Vertigo can successfully load.

System information from Steam: here

I've checked for system updates, verified integrity of CS2's files, tried using upstream mesa package, compiled mesa-git package from AUR, used RADV and AMDVLK with no luck.

Here's mine crashdump files, maybe those can help in some way:

For reference, the attached minidumps are SIGSEGV in libtier0.so coming from libpulse_system.so and libv8.so.

Both crashing for me too at libtier0.so + 0x220dbd from libpulse_system.so. Same as above.

Both maps crashed every time when starting a practice deathmatch. But while playing premier tonight we ended up on vertigo once and the map loaded and played ok. I didn't get a chance to try nuke in premier.

edit: Premier Nuke also doesn't crash.

Can corroborate, just got into premier nuke.

Same thing here. Arch Linux (endeavourOS), can't load into practice matches (of any kind) on Nuke or Vertigo.

Loading into Nuke when it's a selected map in Premier Matchmaking does indeed work.

Crash occurs when loading into a competitive practice game on Nuke towards the end of the loading bar.

After the last patch nuke/vertigo no longer crashes with bots.

Oct 09 16.06.55 update, still crashes.

Still crashing for me in libtier0.so on the Oct 09 release on all practice modes of Nuke and Vertigo. crash_20231010110926_13.dmp.gz sysinfo https://gist.github.com/af7567/2ea065fa36417b2a6c3c496496dd5f61

Older thread and just discovered this as well. Pop OS 22.04

This seems to be fixed with one of the latest updates (Nov 08, Nov 09, Nov 13). Can play these maps (at least in competitive mode) with bots. Even several rounds without crashing.

Still crashes for me in practice mode with bots on death match. probably does the same in casual bots practice lobby as well.

Still getting at least one crash per game (requiring a killall -9 cs2 shell call) on matchmaking deathmatch on Nuke and Vertigo. It usually takes a few minutes where everything is fine before crashing.

My apologies for not attaching a crash dump, I don't know where to find them.
