Black flickering on all pixels without smoke for small periods

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen.

When playing, in the middle of a round and for brief (200-500ms?) moments, parts of the screen (multiple thick horizontal sections) or entire draw phases (everything but smokes, ie, as shown in screenshot) turn black. This is completely visual and presents mostly as a flickering effect - there is no fps drop related to the issue (and it doesn't seem to be my hardware being pushed to its limits, as I'm running a comfortable 200fps).

Steps for reproducing this issue:

I'm experiencing the same issue at times, but not every time a smoke is visible. It happened on ancient for me a couple of times, in mid and broky.

On Kubuntu 22.04 using X. RTX 2070 with 525 driver.

Experiencing this too, especially when there's a molly & in inferno. On Debian 12, XFCE, no compositor, using X11. GTX 1660 Super with 525 driver too.
