CSGO is having problems starting up on my mac

I am on an m1 pro macbook pro from 2021. I am running the latest version of steam and the latest version of macOS

I have a launching error with CSGO on my mac. When I launch it, it goes to fullscreen, like I wanted, but it also won't let me leave. The game does not open into a new desktop, and the only way to exit the game is to quit from the menu, or to minimize the game by pressing command-tab, or command-h. If I'm in a game, neither of these work. I'm able to exit, but the game crashes if I try to go back to the game. I used to be able to use swipe gestures on my trackpad to go to mission control, where I can select another app to go to, and when I clicked back on CSGO, it would work just fine. When the game crashes due to some outside reason, I'm not able to exit the game without restarting my entire computer, because the screen freezes and none of the shortcuts work anymore. I can't really attach a screen shot, because it isn't a visual issue. Basically, I can only exit the game three ways, all of which are bad options while playing a game, and all are irrelevant while the game has crashed or frozen. When playing CSGO, I cannot access anything else on my computer without quitting the game I am playing. This does not happen with any other games on steam. All other games I have on steam operate perfectly normally, and I am able to open and close them like I was able to on CSGO barely a month ago.

I don't believe this is a problem with only my mac, but as I don't have two of them, the only way to reproduce this issue, is to start CSGO on an m1 mac. If that doesn't work, then I suppose that it is a problem with my computer specifically, in which case a fix is still greatly appreciated, and If any person knows a way to stop this, I'd be very thankful if you could share that way with me
