Your system information

  • System information from steam: https://gist.github.com/kiroma/30f5f9f9ce4ae51d3c3dce49db73db82
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After joining a match, after an undetermined amount of time the game will freeze up and stop responding to anything, only continuing to play background music. It also outputs the following to the console: https://gist.github.com/kiroma/367358ab2445179ab4eba48f617cbf61

This doesn't seem to be caused by other players as I've just experienced this issue in a server full of bots. This issue doesn't seem to occur without -vulkan

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Launch the game with -vulkan switch.
  2. Join an online match (this issue doesn't seem to occur in an offline game)
  3. Wait for the game to freeze

I'm having a very simular issue.

Ubuntu 21.04 updated (fresh install that's 2 months old, basically stock only added: Steam/CSGO/Google Earth/Synaptic)

AMD Radeon R9 280X 3gb using AMDGPU/mesa Intel i5 3.1ghz 16gb ram Using beta branch of steam client

In my case it seems to freeze while trying to load maps, but extremely often as it's a coin flip if the map will load or not.

It will freeze on loading screen, game will need to be manually killed, and in terminal I get the error "VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST"

Extremely rare CSGO will ever crash using ToGL.

Also to note: this issue was also present when I tested the Vulkan switch mid December.

I also had an issue with major stuttering but that issue seems to be resolved in the latest Vulkan update.

I'm having the same issue. It may take a while to happen in deathmatch, in casual it happens less than a round in. I've noticed it always shows No cached sticky mapping in ActivateActionSetLayer. before the freeze.

Retested Vulkan today:

Apon entering the map, there will be 1sec stutters every ~5sec until ~40secs has elapsed. Then performace is great for the rest of the map (superior to OpenGL). Once next map loads same is issue is present mentioned in previous post, VK device lost and csgo freezes and needs to be killed.

Retest done a ~week ago.

Crashing issue seems to now been solved, but now experience a new serious issue.

New Issue:

After playing for about 2-4 maps the frame rate will take a serious dive (about 20 fps) but additionally it seems there is a strobe effect present, like white/black frames are being rendered along side the game, input suffers and it feels like it's also running in slow motion.

This issue becomes permanent until you exit and reload the game.

While this is happening, changing graphics settings like toggling vsync on/off does not rectify the issue.

After ~15 tests this issue will always happen, sometimes on the 2nd map being played, but usually on map 3 or 4.

PC config has not changed since my OG post.

This issue seems to be solved for me by not using unstable sometimes working, sometimes not optimus-manager but prime-run command instead.
