[BUG] Half Life Alyx crashes on boot when Controller is connected (or wooting keyboard because it emulates a controller)

Describe the bug Half-Life: Alyx crashes immediately before boot when any xbox controller is connected to the system. This includes Wooting keyboards, which emulate a controller via its software. The crash occurs before the initial loading screen or and before the VR initialization phase, preventing the game from starting. To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Connect a controller (e.g., Xbox controller via USB idk about Bluetooth) Launch Half-Life: Alyx from the Steam library. Wait for the game to attempt to boot Observe the crash: The game window doesent even open.

Expected behavior ... it should start up without me having to disconnect my keyboard... im using the latest steam beta on up to date arch linux

Additional context This issue started occurring for months now. Disconnecting the controller allows the game to boot normally. Tested on multiple controllers Xbox Series X and the Wooting 80HE keyboard. No mods or custom configs are installed.
