[BUG] SteamVR Not displaying in Valve Index

Describe the bug Upon opening steamVR, a window pops up on my monitor and it display 2 "lenses" and a vast array of "glitchy" colours

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Install steam, install steamVR, and then run as one would normally do

Expected behavior steamVR should open and display in the valve index as normal

System Information (please complete the following information):

• Distribution: Ubuntu 21.10
• SteamVR version: 1.21.12
• Steam client version: Mar 31 2022 23:11:43
• Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
• Graphics driver version: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 21.2.6

Additional context Switched over from Windows 10 to Ubuntu. Was previously working without issues on Windows 10, now having issues on Ubuntu.
