Screen gamma control feature request

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

SteamOS in Game Mode has no interface to change screen gamma.

As a visually impaired gamer many games are absolutely inaccessible to me as I cannot bump up gamma and make near-black things actually visible to me.

On the top of that, many old games have broken 'screen brightness' control, like Bioshock 1 Remastered and Bioshock 2 Remastered, changing brightness there changes nothing, and the games are otherwise too dark to see anything there.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Have a reason to bump gamma (being visually impaired or running game without functional brightness/gamma control)
  2. Stare at screen
  3. Realize there's no way to make things visible to you, you cannot see anything there.
  4. Big sad

I managed to get what I needed with Decky Plugin Loader and VibrantDeck plugin. For example on Bioshock 2 Remastered by setting the Gamma of Red, Green and Blue from 100 to 250 I now have perfectly (for me) visible screen. This is a real shame that a 3rd party plugin that is added in a hacky way is required to make SteamDeck accessible.

For some ungodly reason the gamma in game mode is very low and blacks get completely crushed. It's been like this for years now and there's been no fix for it ever since vibrant deck went away. Desktop mode doesn't have this problem.

I concur this is sorely needed. I am currently in a hospital using TV’s I can’t adjust and they consistently have low gamma. A systemwide gamma control would be a great accessibility feature.
