Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Installing SteamOS from an ISO i downloaded, boots fine installs, then goes places i do not understand to arrive at a screen just after clonezilla did something.
Reboot from there results in a sluggish system stuck at a darkish screen with the steam logo. Some success bypassing this booting with the text boot kernel parameter.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- Everytime i install Steam OS
- stuck, black screen
- big cursor, nothing happens
---- what may improve steamOS perception and delivery
- Autobuild the image for USB and ISO.
- Compile with a more recent kernel.
- Include the latest drivers for AMD and NVIDIA, these drivers are sensitive to the kernel version.
- With such a tightly controlled image as steamOS it should be relatively easy and manageable.
- Offer more control over the boot process.
- boot with nomodeset to install
- i suggested Debian many years ago, i would suggest Arch today.
