Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen. I would like to set my refresh rate to 144Hz when playing games using SteamOS on my Gsync monitor. After installing the nvidia settings UI in Desktop mode and and increasing refresh rate to 144Hz, I expected these settings to stick. Instead, when I return to Big Picture mode, the refresh rate back is reset back to 60Hz.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Turn on G-sync's monitor (XB271HU) FPS counter. Ensure the counter reads 60 FPS.
  2. Go into the desktop. Install nvidia settings gui.
  3. Launch GUI, change refresh rate to 144Hz and confirm the change using the FPS counter.
  4. Go back into Big Picture mode. Confirm refresh rate has now been reset back to 60Hz.
  5. Go back to Desktop mode. Confirm refresh rate is set at 144Hz.
