Your system information

  • Steam client version: SteamClient022
  • SteamOS version: 3.7.17
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] No
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: [Yes/No] No
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: [Yes/No] I can not because I can't connect to wifi

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen. I've somehow managed to pass the setup phase by connecting the steam deck to my hotspot. However, I've lost connection to it after logging in into steam and now I can not connect to any wifi anymore.

I just bought it it is brand new.

Likely an issue with the Deck’s Wi-Fi driver or a corrupted network config. Try:

• Reboot → Hold Volume Down + Power → Boot into BIOS and toggle Wi-Fi/BT off/on. • In the boot menu, pick Restore Network Settings if available. • In Desktop Mode, delete ~/.config/NetworkManager and reboot so NM rebuilds configs. • Forget all saved connections and re-add the hotspot (some Decks fail to reconnect after setup). • Test 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz - early connection issues usually fail on one band.

If none of this works on a brand-new unit, it may be a hardware issue with the Wi-Fi module - return/exchange is usually the fastest fix.

I can also confirm issues appearing after latest update, everything was fine before. Cant suddenly connect to home wifi, no matter what you try. After failed reconnection to the network, toggling "enable wifi" freezes the OS, only hard power off helps. The deck is couple of weeks old, but worked fine previously. Not a wifi issue either - tried on different routers and through wifi hotspot, sometimes the connection works, but the issue reappears after sleep - its dropped and cannot reconnect, even after forgetting the network EDIT: rolled back to 3.7.15, no issue, connected immediately
