Night mode transition causes massive stuttering ingame

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

During the transition period for normal lighting to Night mode (and back) games always exhibit massive stuttering and fps drops below 10 for a few seconds.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Enable Night mode and schedule it for 10 pm for example
2. Start a game a few minutes before your chosen time (eg. 10pm)
3. Observe the stuttering and frame drops at 10pm
