Low Sound Volume on Legion Go S Extreme

Open dj5927 opened this issue 7 months ago • 4 comments

I'm using the Legion Go S Extreme with SteamOS 3.7.9 Beta. The overall sound volume is too low, even when set to 100%.

In desktop mode, I tested using volume amplification (over 100%), and it seems that increasing it to around 115–120% gives a proper volume level.

However, even if I enable this volume amplification in desktop mode, it resets back to 100% whenever I adjust the volume again.

It seems like the default output level needs to be boosted by around 10–20% for a better experience.

Please consider increasing the default volume output or allowing persistent volume amplification.

Same here. Also, steam system sounds are audibly louder than game volume. For now I'm using decky plugins DeckSP to increase overall gain, and Volume Mixer to reduce system sounds after I boost globally, as otherwise they get too loud and distorted.

I fixed this with decky loader plugin DeckSP. Set the post gain to 5db and sounds great. You can go more if you like but I felt this was adequate. There are many other audio tweaks with this plugin but this is all I felt was necessary. Hope this helps

I use decky, but volume boost plug-ins won't let me adjust volume for some reason, sliders won't move at all. Any ideas?
