Your system information

  • Steam client version: 20250319.100
  • SteamOS version: 3.7.2
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes]
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: [Yes]
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: [Yes]

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Headphones are recognised in desktop mode and I hear the click when I connect it to the jack showing it's powered. I get no audio no matter the volume. Issue only occurs using the 3.5mm jack on steam deck LCD. Works fine on beta or stable branch. Must be a recent preview build update.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Opt into preview build
  2. Connect headphones to LCD steam deck via 3.5mm jack (USB C and wireless work fine)
  3. Play test audio.

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1836#issuecomment-2731977927 This issue was apparently fixed but I've re opted back in and out and the issue persists once I go back.

I also have this issue on my Steam Deck LCD. It started some time during the 3.7.2 Preview update and has persisted through the 3.7.3 and 3.7.4 updates. Switching to SteamOS Stable/Beta fixes the issue, but it returns upon switching back to the Preview channel. I have also tried going from Stable/Beta 3.6.24 to Main 3.8.0 without any luck (same audio issues remain).

Issues: low speaker volume and no audio at all with headphones Device: Steam Deck LCD on Preview or Main update channels Workaround: revert to SteamOS Stable/Beta.

Still persists on the Beta Branch.

And now the issue has made its way to the stable branch without being fixed. So I now have no way to use wired headphones unless using a USB C to 3.5mm adapter.

Is there any update on this issue?

I was able to use my headphones by rolling back to the 3.6 something release. But after updating to 3.7.13 I no longer have the option to roll back to that version in the boot menu.

Edit: I found a solution that works here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1l5otey/jack_audio_not_working/
